After completing his studies, he returned to Patna in 2007 instead of taking up a job. He founded the Kaushalya Foundation along with his brother. Through this foundation, he helped to increase coordination between farmers and vendors to create an organized vegetable business. The initial days were difficult due to lack of funds.

Even after topping IIM Ahmedabad, people made fun of him while he was unemployed. But Kaushalendra did not lose his courage. He started the Samriddhi Yojana and was also a hit. Currently, more than 22,000 farmers are involved in their mission under the Kaushalya Foundation and they have about 700 employees.

He had opened a vegetable shop and the sales of the first day was only 22 rupees but in 2016-17 the turnover of his company was 5 crores rupees. And most importantly, his company is helping about 22,000 farmers and has become a medium of goodness for them.

Kaushalendra is trying to add vegetable products to the retail supply chain model among vegetable farmers and vendors scattered all over Bihar. Employees associated with the project collect vegetables from farmers and deliver them to vendors. Farmers are given all possible help and advice related to farming. Kaushalendra wants to create a firm where vegetable farmers can change the nature of the market, they can do same as retail so that it is also capable of bargaining.

With this, the customers also get fresh vegetables and vegetables are also saved from getting wasted. With this scheme, the income of farmers has increased by 25-50 percent, while the income of vegetable vendors has increased by 50-100 percent. This has not only increased their income but also reduced their work load.
