The federal government has approved antigen test kits that perform the corona test anywhere, like at home. This test kit is said to be of great help in the fight against the corona virus.
Pune-based Mylab Discovery Solutions has developed India’s first self-test Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) kit, known as ‘CoviSelfTM‘, which performs a corona infection test in two minutes and results in 15 minutes.
How does this home test kit work?
“The home test kit, which is set to take a test in 2 minutes and get a result in 15 minutes, will go on sale in pharmacies and online sites. This test kit will be sold all over India and will cost Rs 250”, said Sujith Jain, director of Mylap.
We can take this test at home. If it is positive, there is no need to take another RT-PCR test. Subsequently, the Medical Research Council of India has issued detailed guidelines on who can use it and how.
The ICMR described in this regard
Accordingly, only people with symptoms should use this home test tool. The ICMR also clarified that they should take an RT-PCR test if it turns out to be negative. At the same time, the ICMR has clearly stated that blind testing is not advised.

“All people who come in as positive on a home test can be considered truly positive. They don’t need to be re-tested“, said ICMR.
