Engineer Rakesh Mahanti, who comes from Jharkhand, is today working to double the income of farmers through his efforts and has also left his best paying job to fulfill his mission. Rakesh has become a ray of hope for all the farmers of Jamshedpur.
According to Rakesh, if someone wants to make things better then it is very important to set an example for that and after that people start following them. Rakesh has also done something similar. He first prepared a model-farm with 5 farmers working with him on a small piece of land and seeing its benefits, the number of farmers joining him started increasing continuously.
Farmers across the country are joining
Rakesh and other farmers share land, resources, equipment and machinery with each other. Today rice, green vegetables, millets and many other crops are being grown by these farmers in a very profitable way.
Under this, farmers having their own land get a percentage of profit while landless farmers are given a salary of Rs 6000 every month. According to Rakesh, till now about 200 farmers are associated with him all over the country. Today Rakesh also provides advice as per the need of farmers across India.
Became role models of farmers
Talking to the media, the local officials said that Mahanti has become a role model among the local farmers and now he is also a source of inspiration for many people of the area.
