PAN card can be made online and offline. But there is not much difference to say so. While applying for a PAN card online, a person has to give some important information about himself digitally. Apply for PAN Card Online

For applying PAN card online i.e., e-filing PAN card. 

  1. Firstly one has to go to NSDL or UTIITSL website for PAN card application and click on ‘New PAN’ option on the website. If you want to apply for a PAN card now, click on this link directly- https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html
  2. This PAN card website has to be opened. Clicking on this link opens the PAN card form. Here a person has to fill his personal information.
  3. After opening the link, it is first asked if you have any PAN card or not. In this category to make a PAN card, it has to be selected No. 
  4. After this, the title has to be selected, after which the name, date of birth, email id, mobile number have to be written and clicked on submit.
  5. Now the next step in the application for the PAN card stage is to upload the required documents, here the necessary documents have to be uploaded in the pdf file. 
  6. After uploading the papers, the form has to be submitted.
  7. Now an option will be open for the person to deposit the fees for creating a PAN card. The fee for making a PAN card is Rs 101, which can be deposited online. 
  8. After paying the PAN card fees, click on the submitted PAN card form.
  9. As soon as the PAN card form is submitted, a person gets a 15-digit registration number by generating it. Based on the registration number, individuals can check their PAN card status.
  10. When the PAN card is created, the gateway of India Post reaches the address given by the person. The process of creation of a PAN card is completed within 15 days to 30 days.

Apply for PAN Card Offline

Besides making a PAN card online, any person can make a PAN card offline too. There is a way to get an offline PAN card – first by yourself and second by registered agent. Both methods require offline form filling.

To apply for a PAN card offline, download the PAN card form from the website of NSDL or UTIISL and fill it properly or by taking this form to the UTIISL agent.

Photographs are to be filled in the filled form and any government issued ID like Aadhar, DL, Voter ID etc. has to be attached along with the form. Now submit the form at NSDL office along with the processing fees. PAN card will be sent to the address written in the form in 15 days.
