Meanwhile, the state government issued a major announcement regarding electric vehicle a few days ago. This announcement is a surprise announcement not only for the electric vehicle companies but also for the people who want to buy it.
According to the announcement made by the government, the subsidy for electric two-wheelers has been increased from the existing Rs 10,000 per kilowatt to Rs 15,000.
In addition, registration fees for buyers of new electric cars and electric bikes will no longer exist. The announcement said that the registration fee for electric vehicles will be completely waived and the RC renewal fee for already purchased electric vehicles will also be waived.
Now that the scheme has been submitted to the Central Government, it will come into effect only after proper consultation and approval by Parliament.
The state government has proposed to cancel these tariffs as people will be able to buy more electric vehicles with this cancellation announcement. In this way, the import of crude oil can be greatly reduced.
Electric companies have already started announcing tariff concessions, as demand for electric vehicles will increase in India when this announcement goes into effect.
Ather, India’s leading e-bike company, has for the first time slashed the price of its 450X type bike by Rs 14,500. Following this, many electric vehicle manufacturers began to advertise lower prices.
Okinawa has slashed the price of its electric scooter by Rs 17,000. Similarly, the price of a Okinawa Ridge Plus electric scooter has come down from Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 99,708.
Like these companies, TVS has also slashed the price of its iQube electric scooter from Rs 1,12,027 to Rs 1,00,777.
